yesterday, in an attempt to soak up some vitamin D and ward off whatever this sickness is that i'm harboring, i took a book and a latte down to millennium park to sit on a bench in the sun across from the bean. it was the perfect afternoon to be sick.
i sat for a while with 'everything is illuminated,' looking up every once in a while to see people laughing, smiling, holding hands in the sunny afternoon. kids ran around playing tag, dodging the art students sketching in the grass. elderly couples held on to each other's arms and walked slowly across the park. power walkers in power suits strode by with crackberries glued to their ears. it seemed like everyone who wasn't cooped up in an office was out enjoying the sunshine.
after a while i got up and walked across frank gehry's bridge to grant park and the cancer survivor's garden. i wish i had brought my camera to show you how blue the sky and lake were, and how they blended to the exact some color at the horizon and you couldn't tell where one ended and the other began. the planetarium jutted out over the lake to my right, and navy pier to my left. i breathed in the fresh air and fell in love with chicago again, for the ten millionth time.

Ooh, I hadn't seen photos of the bridge before. It looks interesting! Glad you're having nice weather, too. xo!
